American leftists have never really cared much for things like national security, anti-terrorist initiatives, and the United States military. Too much manly posturing scares them, for one thing. Protecting things like freedom, capitalism, and traditional Judeo-Christian values disgusts them. It’s why they always side with Palestine over Israel, for example. And it’s why they’re so anxious to get the United States to lose the War on Terror–and blatantly ignored a possible terrorist attack this week.

The news that a Yemeni passenger attempted to storm the cockpit of an American Airlines flight, while screaming “Allahu Akbar!”, should have been breaking news. Instead, it drew surprisingly little media attention. Even authorities seem to be rather lackadaisical about the potential terrorist attack, claiming that they don’t know what his motive was — despite the fact that we just killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda and the man who planned the 9-11 atrocity which just so happened to also involve hijacking airplanes.

Prior to 9-11, most of the Western world did not take jihad against the West seriously. There were many, many warning signs along the way, but they were ignored. After that fateful September day, it couldn’t be ignored any longer, and since 9-11, Al Qaeda and Muslim extremists have continued to try to attack the United States, as well as multiple European countries. The jihad wages on, while most of the country looks the other way. Leftists pretended to care about national security and stopping terrorist attacks for a little while after the horror of 9-11, but that facade quickly grew too difficult to keep up for them. They then proceeded to do everything they could to get us to lose the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Last week, when the news broke that we finally caught and killed Osama bin Laden, leftists pretended to be jubilant. Though deep down many of them mourned, they were mostly excited that they now had another reason to claim we no longer need to fight the War on Terror.

That paper-thin meme should have been blown apart Sunday. But of course, leftists live by their own warped logic.
Browse around the left-leaning blogs and you’ll be lucky if it even gets a mention. Over at the Huffington Post, they edited out the eyewitness account of the man screaming “Allahu Akbar!” as he tried to storm the cockpit. The writers at Wonkette declared that the entire event was not at all a threat, that it’s completely normal, and the fact that conservatives are taking the incident seriously is racism, or something.

The conservative Internet has uncovered UNMISTAKABLE EVIDENCE that The Muslims of America are planning to set aside their Sharia checklist for a moment to avenge the death of Osama bin Laden. On Sunday, some guy from Vallejo, California on a flight from Chicago to San Francisco went nuts, screaming and pounding on the cockpit door, according to the Associated Press. This is something that happens on airplanes! People do weird things! Flying is freaky for a lot of people! In the same article, the AP notes another guy on another flight Sunday tried to open the plane door of the aircraft he was on. But that second guy isn’t of Arab descent, so the MUSLIM WATCHERS are only freaking out about the first one.

Yes, because someone trying to break into the cockpit of a plane, screaming “God is Great” is Arabic, is a totally normal occurrence during American travel.

Authorities have yet to say this is terrorism, because it’s pretty obviously not. But the people who really understand Muslims, bigots who have never studied Islam, know the truth: this was a DRY RUN by the Muslims, who will soon be inside every plane in the country, KNOCKING ON A DOOR. Scary! Don’t knock so hard, Muslims! You will kill all us white people with your door knocking!

While it may be the easier route to pretend that terrorists have stopped attacking the United States, the simple truth is that they haven’t. 9-11 was less than ten years ago. And while there have been multiple attacks on Europe since then, and attempted attacks on the United States — most recently, the Christmas Day Bomber, the attempted bombing of a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland, and the Fort Hood massacre — it’s so much easier to treat everything as a big joke, or to smear vigilance as racism. The truth is that this very easily could have been a legitimate terrorist attack or a dry run to practice for one in the future. But if you’re a leftist, why take news like this seriously? If the evil conservatives are, then clearly leftists need to either ignore or deride the issue, no matter how important or relevant.

On May 1st, we killed Osama bin Laden. Al Qaeda is sure to retaliate. Now, we have a Yemeni man attempting to storm the cockpit of an American Airlines flight screaming “Allahu Akbar”… and shockingly, authorities can’t figure out a motive.

Really?!

The passengers sat stunned as they watched a man walk quickly toward the front of American Airlines Flight 1561 as it was descending toward San Francisco. He was screaming and then began pounding on the cockpit door.

“I kept saying to myself: ‘What’s he doing? Does he have a bomb? Is he armed?’” passenger Angelina Marty said.

Within moments Sunday, a flight attendant tackled Rageh Almurisi. Authorities do not yet have a motive.

Um, here. Let me help them out. It’s called jihad.

While authorities said that Almurisi, 28, of Vallejo, Calif., has no clear or known ties to terrorism, the incident underscored fears that extremists may try to mount attacks to retaliate for the death of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden last week.

Federal agents are investigating Almurisi’s background. He was carrying a Yemeni passport and a California identification card, authorities said.

…Marty, 35, recalled that she and other passengers on the plane were stunned when they saw Almurisi walking down the aisle. She said a woman in a row across from her who speaks Arabic translated that Almurisi said “God is Great!” in Arabic.

Andrew Wai, another passenger, told KGO-TV on Monday that the wife of one of the men who took Almurisi down later said Almurisi was yelling “Allahu Akbar.”

“There was no question in everybody’s mind that he was going to do something,” Marty said.

A male flight attendant tackled Almurisi, and other crew members and passengers, including a retired Secret Service agent and a retired San Mateo police officer, helped subdue him as he banged on the door, police said. The flight attendant put plastic handcuffs on him.

It doesn’t matter that he has no known ties to terrorism. Is it not possible that someone could be a terrorist, hiding here in the United States, and our government (gasp!) doesn’t know about it?

This incident also shows how important it is for us to always, always, always be alert. With the Mr. Magoos at the TSA busy groping grandmas and little kids, it’s easy for terrorists to stroll right on through security and board an airplane (obviously). And authorities apparently can’t figure out an attempted terrorist attack, even when it’s right in front of their eyes. It seems to me that when it comes to national security, we’re on our own. These passengers and flight attendants showed that they were paying attention, and more importantly, showed extreme daring and bravery in tackling this man before he had a chance to do whatever it was he was going to do.

Now, let’s say the man had no weapons and this attack was as ludicrous as it comes. Does that mean we should shrug it off as no big deal, as Michelle suspects the Obama administration will? Well, no. This could easily be a man who is still working for Al Qaeda and is still a terrorist — and was simply going through a dry run, attempting to find out what kind of security we currently have on our airplanes. We can’t become complacent and we can’t forget that the threat is still out there. They’re still trying to kill us. — even though authorities may not be able to understand that.

This was a deliberate act of war by the Al Qaeda organization, and it went ignored by the Clinton administration. The Bush administration responded on November 3, 2002, when the CIA fired a AGM-114 Hellfire missile from a Predator UAV at a vehicle carrying Abu Ali al-Harithi, a suspected planner of the bombing plot and Ahmed Hijazi, a U.S. citizen. Both men died. Now, the Obama administration has shelved prosecution of Abd al-Rahim Al-Nashiri, the alleged mastermind of the bombing.

Indeed, October 12 has become a forgotten day of infamy. Don’t let the memory of the horror of that day fade away, and don’t let the memories of the sailors who were murdered die. Remember their sacrifices today. Remember the Cole.

Yesterday, I wrote about Wikileaks outing of hundreds of Afghan informants, whose lives are now at stake. Early on in the game, Private Bradley Manning was the suspected informant for Wikileaks, having already supplied them with the doctored “Collateral Murder” anti-American propaganda video. Well, it turns out that Manning may indeed be the person who supplied Wikileaks with these classified documents, as there is allegedly evidence to tie Manning to the documents.

Know what that means? it means he’s a traitor.

Investigators have found concrete evidence linking Pfc. Bradley Manning with the leak of classified Afghanistan war reports, a U.S. defense official said.

A search of the computers used by Pfc. Manning yielded evidence he had downloaded the Afghanistan war logs, which span 2004-2009, the official said. It isn’t clear precisely what that evidence is.

… The investigation is also looking at who might have helped Pfc. Manning provide the documents to WikiLeaks, a Web-based group that earlier this week released 76,000 secret reports from Afghanistan.

Alan Murray interviews Floyd Abrams, the legendary first amendment attorney, about the recent WikiLeaks disclosure and its relationship to the Pentagon Papers case.

Because of the focus on civilians who may have aided Pfc. Manning, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Justice Department have been brought into aid the investigation, which is being led by the Army Criminal Investigation Command.

Defense officials are also combing through Pfc. Manning’s computers in a bid to figure out what other material he may have stolenas they try to anticipate what other material WikiLeaks may have.

WikiLeaks says it has at least 15,000 more Afghanistan documents the group withheld until some details could be redacted.

Military officials said the documents already released contain names of Afghans who have aided the allied force, information that could potentially endanger some of those people.

Manning has endangered the lives of not only hundreds of Afghan informants, but of our soldiers as well. He’s directly aided our enemies in facilitating the release of these documents and of the “Collateral Murder” video. They’ve become a rallying cry for Al Qaeda and the Taliban, who are threatening revenge strikes now.

He should be tried for treason, and if found guilty, face a traitor’s death. He’s aided our enemies and put our troops and our allies in harm’s way. If anyone dies because of these documents, it will be a direct result of Manning’s actions, and he needs to be held responsible.

The internet is abuzz with the document drop at Wikileaks. We’ve been giving Pakistan $1 billion a year in aid, and in return… they’ve been helping our enemies kill our troops. Smart diplomacy, people. Smart diplomacy.

Americans fighting the war in Afghanistan have long harbored strong suspicions that Pakistan’s military spy service has guided the Afghan insurgency with a hidden hand, even as Pakistan receives more than $1 billion a year from Washington for its help combating the militants, according to a trove of secret military field reports made public Sunday.

The documents, made available by an organization called WikiLeaks, suggest that Pakistan, an ostensible ally of the United States, allows representatives of its spy service to meet directly with the Taliban in secret strategy sessions to organize networks of militant groups that fight against American soldiers in Afghanistan, and even hatch plots to assassinate Afghan leaders.

Taken together, the reports indicate that American soldiers on the ground are inundated with accounts of a network of Pakistani assets and collaborators that runs from the Pakistani tribal belt along the Afghan border, through southern Afghanistan, and all the way to the capital, Kabul.

Much of the information — raw intelligence and threat assessments gathered from the field in Afghanistan— cannot be verified and likely comes from sources aligned with Afghan intelligence, which considers Pakistan an enemy, and paid informants. Some describe plots for attacks that do not appear to have taken place.

But many of the reports rely on sources that the military rated as reliable.

While current and former American officials interviewed could not corroborate individual reports, they said that the portrait of the spy agency’s collaboration with the Afghan insurgency was broadly consistent with other classified intelligence.

There are even allegations that Pakistani intelligence is working alongside Al Qaeda to plan attacks. And Pakistan has allegedly been allowing Al Qaeda terrorists to cross the border into Pakistan safely, refusing to fire on or arrest them.

The White House has swiftly chimed in to dismiss the leaks as irresponsible.

White House National Security Adviser James Jones issued a statement that begins: “The United States strongly condemns the disclosure of classified information by individuals and organizations which could put the lives of Americans and our partners at risk, and threaten our national security.

“Wikileaks made no effort to contact us about these documents – the United States government learned from news organizations that these documents would be posted. These irresponsible leaks will not impact our ongoing commitment to deepen our partnerships with Afghanistan and Pakistan; to defeat our common enemies; and to support the aspirations of the Afghan and Pakistani people.

“The documents posted by Wikileaks reportedly cover a period of time from January 2004 to December 2009. On December 1, 2009, President Obama announced a new strategy with a substantial increase in resources for Afghanistan, and increased focus on al Qaeda and Taliban safe-havens in Pakistan, precisely because of the grave situation that had developed over several years.”

An administration official went further in an e-mail to reporters: “I don’t think anyone who follows this issue will find it surprising that there are concerns about ISI and safe havens in Pakistan. In fact, we’ve said as much repeatedly and on the record.”

Here’s a question: if the White House has all of these security concerns with Pakistan, then why are we paying them $1 billion a year?? We’re basically funding Pakistan’s collusion with the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

Of course, these are despicable acts by Wikileaks that shouldn’t be applauded. They take pride in releasing classified documents that do nothing but jeopardize the mission in Afghanistan. And there are some curiosities about the documents, as Jammie Wearing Fool points out.

The last thing I observed is I find it funny that there were no jokes, no reports of successful actions or heroic acts being reported as being contained in the documents. Don’t you think that in 90,000 pages there would be at least account of bravery or a successful turn around in a village or completion of a civics project like a school or a hospital?

We may not be able to completely trust Wikileaks, but it doesn’t mean that we should trust Pakistan… or be giving them $1 billion a year. Pakistan undoubtedly has some ties to terrorism, and just last week Hillary Clinton accused them of knowing where bin Laden is. This was the day after she had promised even more aid to Pakistan. The document drop from Wikileaks isn’t anything new or shocking. The Washington Post reports that there are three main things to take from this: that Pakistan’s intel forces are continuing to support the Taliban, that the war is under resourced, and that the Taliban has heat-seeking missiles capable of attacking our helicopters. (What, you mean that NATO helicopters haven’t just been crashing out of thin air?! Shocking!) None of the news in the Wikileaks document dump is particularly new, but it begs the question: why are we giving our enemies money?? Once upon a time, that would have been called treason.

What will it take for the Obama administration to do something about Pakistan — and finally do what it takes to win this war in Afghanistan?

I can only pray that Obama and the State Department are not this idiotic. Apparently, Omar bin Laden (son of Osama bin Laden, the most wanted terrorist in the world) is stranded in Iran and is seeking refuge. And who is coming to his rescue? Yup — the United States. Apparently, the United States is considering accepting the bin Ladens.

A son of Osama bin Laden said about 20 members of his family stranded in Iran are seeking sanctuary in a third country and that the U.S. may agree to accept them.

Omar bin Laden, the al-Qaeda leader’s fourth son, said in an interview with Al Arabiya television that Iran is refusing to allow his relatives to go to Saudi Arabia. Shiite Muslim- dominated Iran is a regional rival of Sunni-ruled Saudi Arabia. Al-Qaeda, a Sunni group, is hostile to Iran.

“The Americans offered to help them out of Iran and even hinted at the possibility of receiving them in the U.S.,” he said in the interview, which was aired late yesterday and posted on the Dubai-based channel’s website. Omar bin Laden said none of his brothers has been accused of terrorism by the U.S. or any other country.

The elder bin Laden’s relatives held under house arrest in Iran include five of his children and one of his wives, Al Arabiya said. The family had been living in Afghanistan and fled to Iran after the U.S. military began air strikes on the country following the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001.

The idea that this is even being considered is outrageous. If this is allowed to happen, the outrage over SB 1070 and the mosque at Ground Zero will sound like minor grumblings of miscontent. The idea that we would welcome the family of the founder of Al Qaeda — the organization responsible for the 9/11 attacks that killed almost 3,000 innocent civilians — is so horrific that it’s beyond comprehension. Omar bin Laden has admitted that he received training in Al Qaeda training camps beginning at the age of 14. He says he left Al Qaeda at the age of 20 because he objected to killing civilians — but does he condemn the actions of Al Qaeda? Does he object to other members of Al Qaeda killing civilians? Would he help smooth the way for an Al Qaeda terrorist to kill civilians? We’re talking about a man who refuses to criticize his father, the son of a murderer and a terrorist, and the son of the founder of an organization that we are at war with.

How could we possibly even consider, even for just a moment, letting any member of Osama bin Laden’s family come to the United States? It is lunacy, and — it shouldn’t even need to be said — it seriously endangers homeland security.

Why can’t the geniuses in our state department figure this out? The thought that this is even being considered, even fleetingly, is so mind-blowingly stupid that it makes me sick.

Hat Tip: Jammie Wearing Fool

The media has found something else to demonize Israel about over the Gaza flotilla incident. A 19-year old “American” was killed in the confrontation from multiple gunshot wounds.

A U.S. citizen who lived in Turkey is among the nine people killed when Israeli commandos stormed a Turkish aid ship heading for the Gaza Strip, officials said today. The victim was identified as Furkan Dogan, 19, a Turkish-American. A forensic report said he was shot at close range, with four bullets in his head and one in his chest, according to the Anatolian news agency.

Of course, he was just an innocent high school student wanting to bring aid to Gaza, right? Uh, no. At best, he is a terrorist sympathizer. He was in the company of 40 Al Qaeda terrorists. What more do you need to know? Any American involved with Al Qaeda is a traitor in my book. He got himself into his own mess. They were apparently hoping for martyrdom and pre-planned the violent altercation, so it isn’t exactly like this was just some innocent peace activist kid wearing burkenstocks and waving a peace sign.

Me frankly, I agree with Confederate Yankee. He was born to Turkish parents here and then left at the age of two. He allegedly never returned. This kid is an American on accident, someone who is technically a citizen but is not a legitimate part of our country. The media knows this, but now they have a brand new angle to spin. Not only did Israel murder innocent peace activists, but they murdered an American, too. To which I call BS.

American or not, if you pal around with terrorists, then you deserve to die like one. And this kid did. Bravo! I hope he’s enjoying his 72 virgins.
