FAQ

Why do you blog?
Because I’m opinionated. Because I care about politics. Mostly, though, I blog because I love and care about my country deeply, and want to be able to make a difference one day.

How do you decide what to write about?
I pick whatever topic I have an opinion on. If something is already being beaten to death in the media and/or blogosphere, I’m more likely to skip it because there’s likely nothing I can add to the discussion. Mostly, I try to stick to stories concerning politics and current events, but you’ll also see me blogging about today’s culture and society, relationships, parenting, religion, and anything else that catches my fancy. Feminism is a topic I blog about A LOT, because I pretty much despise what modern feminism has become. Plus, they make themselves really easy targets for ridicule.

What are your political beliefs?
Well, I’ve always considered myself a Republican. Starting out, when I first started getting interested in politics in high school, I was much more of a moderate. I was socially much less conservative than I am now — as an example, I’ve always felt that abortion was morally reprehensible but once thought it wasn’t my place to force my morals on anyone else. Learning more about abortion, and other issues, as well as just growing up and maturing in general, has made me become more and more conservative. I believe in capitalism and the free market. I want a small government where Americans control their own lives. I want a strong military and a strong national defense. I’m also a social conservative, who believes it isn’t a violation of the mythical “separation of church and state” for Christians to practice their religion in public. I hate modern-day feminism, I hate liberalism, and automatically lose respect for anyone who thinks that it’s the government’s job to solve their problems for them. Basically, I’m what liberals would call a fascist right wing nutjob with no heart.

What do you like to do for fun?
I am a huge sports nut. I love pretty much any kind of sports, but especially love football and hockey. There is nothing more fun for me than going to see a game, whether it be a football game, a baseball game, or a hockey game. Doesn’t even matter if it’s a sport I don’t particularly follow, like basketball — I can still have a good time. I also love to read. I started reading at four years old and pretty much never stopped. I used to get in trouble for propping a book up inside my textbooks at school instead of paying attention during the lesson. I also love history, and at one time considered being a history teacher. Living in the First Coast of Florida was great for this, as I got to live in some of the richest history in the country, although there’s still much more for me to see and experience. I live in North Carolina now, and I’m slowly discovering the state and what it has to offer.

Do you work besides blogging?
Yes. I work in a financial institution and will say no more.

Why are you so opinionated/harsh/mean/rude?
I don’t try to be rude or mean (most of the time). But I am opinionated, and that’s just the way it is. You can’t be a blogger and not be opinionated. I try very hard not to be rude or harsh to my readers (unless they are being rude or harsh first). I value every single one of my readers, whether conservative or liberal, but I can and will match the tone used by those commenting. If you’re rude to me or to my other readers, then I will be rude back. That’s the way it is. When it comes down to it, I will never be able to please everybody. There will always be someone offended or upset or angry. Nothing I do will ever change that. Therefore, I will be myself and myself only. You can choose to love me or hate me.

Are you single?
Yes, I actually get asked this, so I decided to go ahead and add this to the FAQ page. I am married to a Marine, Matt, and I couldn’t be prouder of him or happier to be with him. I moved to North Carolina to be with him in June of 2009.
