Go ahead - make my day!

They really, really support the troops! Really, they do!

These idiots keep blathering on about how they don’t want us to win in Iraq, and then get furious when we call them cowards, traitors, and defeatocrats (emphasis mine):

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said Monday that a strongly positive report on progress on Iraq by Army Gen. David Petraeus likely would split Democrats in the House and impede his party’s efforts to press for a timetable to end the war.

Clyburn noted that Petraeus carries significant weight among the 47 members of the Blue Dog caucus in the House, a group of moderate to conservative Democrats. Without their support, he said, Democratic leaders would find it virtually impossible to pass legislation setting a timetable for withdrawal.

“I think there would be enough support in that group to want to stay the course and if the Republicans were to stay united as they have been, then it would be a problem for us,” Clyburn said. “We, by and large, would be wise to wait on the report.”

Many Democrats have anticipated that, at best, Petraeus and U.S. ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker would present a mixed analysis of the success of the current troop surge strategy, given continued violence in Baghdad. But of late there have been signs that the commander of U.S. forces might be preparing something more generally positive. Clyburn said that would be “a real big problem for us.”

So basically, he is rather blatantly admitting that he doesn’t want there to be positive signs of progress from Iraq because it would hurt the Dems politically.

Haven’t we conservatives been saying that all along? And now, he just proved us right.

But don’t question their patriotism, oh no. It’s patriotic to wish for your country to fail, don’t you see? It’s a good thing for the terrorists who want to attack and kill us to win in Iraq. They love America SO much!

As Misha from Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler says,

Try them, convict them and execute them for treason.

Or, if that’s too rough for you, let’s just cram them into container ships and send them off to whichever totalitarian dystopia they’re worshiping at the moment, because a free country has absolutely no use for them. Whatsoever. They’d probably f*ck up the harvest if we used them as fertilizer.

Remember the Flying Imams? For those who aren’t familiar, let’s recap from a column I wrote in December:

By now, everyone has heard the story of the six Muslim passengers escorted off a United Airways flight, after making numerous passengers and crew nervous through their incredibly suspicious actions. Prior to boarding, the six men gathered together in the waiting area to pray – twice – before yelling, in a quiet environment, “Allahu Akhbar!”. In case anyone has forgotten, those are the infamous words also spoken by the hijackers on the four planes as they were taking over the flights. It is also what was shouted as Nick Berg was beheaded. I could go on and on, but why bother? That’s not a real offense, when you think about it. Enough to make you nervous, sure. But nothing to get kicked off a plane over, right?

The story only gets more bizarre.

The six men, who waited together, prayed together, and boarded together, proceed to spread themselves out along the plane – very similar to the positioning of the terrorists on the fateful 9-11 flights. An Arabic-speaking passenger reported that the men repeatedly invoked the name Osama bin Laden and spoke of terrorism and condemned America for “killing Saddam”. This same passenger was one of the passengers who pulled a flight attendant to the side and reported what he had heard. Several of them also asked for seatbelt extenders, only needed for passengers 280 pounds or more. One of the men told police he was, in fact, 280 pounds – but weighed in at much, much less (201 pounds). In fact, none of the men were 280 pounds – the weight of the men ranged from 170 – 250 pounds. Passengers reported that none of the men even fastened the seatbelt extenders. They placed them underneath their seats. What, pray tell, did they need them for? And yet another passenger reported to police that one of the men complained that some nations did not follow “shariah law” and that his job in Bakersfield, CA was a cover – for “representing Muslims in the US”.

Oh, another fun fact – all of the men had one way tickets and no baggage.

The captain made the decision to have the men escorted off the plane based on many complaints from many different passengers, as well as consulting a federal air marshal, a U.S. Airways ground security coordinator and the airline’s security office in Phoenix.

And now, of course, the Muslim men are crying foul. They are saying they were removed from the plane on a basis of racism, and that they disturbed no one on the flight.

A US airways investigation, as well as two other independent investigations, have determined the crew handled the situation correctly.

Of course, they six flying imams flipped out. They filed lawsuits against US Airways and the “John Does” who reported the suspicious activity, CAIR had a field day, and if I remember correctly, even had a Muslim pray-in at the airport to “combat racism” because they weren’t acting suspiciously at all, and the people who reported them were being racist.

This prompted Michelle Malkin’s John Doe Manifesto. I’ll post a few little excerpts here, but make sure the read the entire thing.

Dear Muslim Terrorist Plotter/Planner/Funder/Enabler/Apologist,

You do not know me. But I am on the lookout for you. You are my enemy. And I am yours.

I am John Doe.

I will never forget the example of the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 who refused to sit back on 9/11 and let themselves be murdered in the name of Islam without a fight.

I will never forget the passengers and crew members who tackled al Qaeda shoe-bomber Richard Reid on American Airlines Flight 63 before he had a chance to blow up the plane over the Atlantic Ocean.

I will never forget the alertness of actor James Woods, who notified a stewardess that several Arab men sitting in his first-class cabin on an August 2001 flight were behaving strangely. The men turned out to be 9/11 hijackers on a test run.

I will not be censored in the name of tolerance.

I will not be cowed by your Beltway lobbying groups in moderate clothing. I will not cringe when you shriek about “profiling” or “Islamophobia.”

I will put my family’s safety above sensitivity. I will put my country above multiculturalism.

I will not submit to your will. I will not be intimidated.

I am John Doe.

Pass it on.

Anyways, all of this culminated in a “John Doe” Amendment to protect Americans from frivolous lawsuits who report suspicious activity.

Guess who voted it down in both the House and the Senate.

Yep, Dems. In the Senate, NO Republicans voted against the amendment. Surprisingly, Shrillary voted for it while Obama sat out.

House leaders reacted:

“This is a slap in the face of good citizens who do their patriotic duty and come forward, and it caves in to radical Islamists,” said Rep. Peter T. King, New York Republican and ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee.

Mr. King and Rep. Steve Pearce, New Mexico Republican, sponsored the provision after a group of Muslim imams filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against US Airways and unknown “John Doe” passengers. The imams were removed from US Airways Flight 300 on Nov. 20 after fellow passengers on the Minneapolis-to-Phoenix flight complained about the imams’ suspicious behavior.

“Democrats are trying to find any technical excuse to keep immunity out of the language of the bill to protect citizens, who in good faith, report suspicious activity to police or law enforcement,” Mr. King said. “I don’t see how you can have a homeland security bill without protecting people who come forward to report suspicious activity.”

“We have always said that any discussion of September 11 in any way, shape or form would be made on sacred ground, with reverence to those who were lost,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat.

“We promised you answers, and we promised you a safer America. Hopefully, this legislation will fulfill the rest of the promise,” Mrs. Pelosi said.

Florida Rep. Adam Putnam, chairman of the House Republican Conference, said failure to enact the provision will hold “the threat of endless litigation over the heads of the American people.”

“Democrats are discouraging citizens from reporting suspicious behavior. And that, simply, leaves America vulnerable to terrorist attacks,” Mr. Putnam said.

Nancy Pelosi is promising a safer America while simultaneously refusing to protect Americans for speaking up?!

If Dems had their way, United 93 would have been successfully hijacked. Richard Reid would have blown up that plane midflight over the Atlantic. People will be much less willing to speak up or act against suspicious behavior when the threat of litigation is hanging over their heads! And for actual terrorists, they know that if their act is foiled, they can just sue us and claim innocence.

And they wonder why we question their patriotism, despite their siding with the enemy time and time again.

It’s not over yet — Republicans have sworn to reintroduce the amendment. Therefore, keep the pressure on. Contact your Congressman/woman and your senators. Contact Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Since they aren’t willing to act based on what is in the best interests of the country, then hit ‘em where it hurts and protest. Let them know this can and will hurt their political career.

Michelle Malkin and Hot Air have issued a call to arms: a movement created to pressure the government to deport convicted criminal aliens.

We’ve seen it over and over again the past few months: illegal aliens killing someone while driving drunk; rapists; murderers — most of them with past convictions who not only were not deported, but allowed to walk the streets, free again.

Michelle’s column explains why we need to act:

My fellow Americans, we have a problem. We spend billions of dollars on homeland security, but our government can’t even track and deport convicted criminal aliens. These are not the well-meaning “newcomers” who just want to “pursue economic opportunities” by “doing the jobs no one else will do.” These are foreign-born thugs, sex offenders, murderers, and repeat drunk drivers who are destroying the American Dream.

The terrible kidnapping and murder of 12-year-old Zina Linnik in Tacoma, Wash., on July 4th is a typical example of the criminal alien revolving door. Terapon Adhahn, Linnik’s suspected kidnapper and killer who allegedly snatched her from the backyard of her home, is a permanent legal resident from Thailand. He was convicted of incest in 1990. Adhahn had sexually attacked his 16-year-old relative and pleaded down from a second-degree rape. Two years later, he was convicted of intimidation with a dangerous weapon. Section 1227(a)(2)(C), Title 8, of the U.S. code dealing with immigration states: “Any alien who at any time after admission is convicted under any law of…using, owning, possessing, or carrying…any weapon, part, or accessory which is a firearm or destructive device…in violation of any law is deportable.”

But Adhahn was not deported. In fact, as Lorie Dankers, spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Seattle, admitted: “He escaped our attention.”

Just like illegal alien gangster Mwenda Murithi , who was arrested 27 times without deportation before being arrested in the shooting death of 13-year-old innocent bystander Schanna Gayden last month in Illinois.

Just like illegal alien thug Ezeiquiel Lopez, who built up a six-year rap sheet without deportation before being arrested in the murder of Deputy Frank Fabiano two months ago in Wisconsin.

Just like illegal alien Juan Leonardo Quintero, who had been previously deported after committing crimes from indecency with a child to driving while intoxicated, but who traipsed back into the U.S. last fall and was arrested after allegedly shooting Houston police officer Rodney Johnson four times in the head during a routine traffic stop.

It is not “anti-immigrant radicals” who are fed up with the failure to kick out and keep out criminal aliens. Zina Linnik’s uncle, Anatoly Kalchik, points out that his family was a family of legal immigrants who all obeyed the laws. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported: “Zina’s uncle was angry that the suspect had not been deported after being convicted in a sex crime. “We are all immigrants, but we come legally,” Anatoly Kalchik said of his family. He added that the adults all cleared a criminal background check. ‘If someone is a sex offender, or any kind of offender, he has no business being in America,’ he said.”

Rep. David Price, a North Carolina Democrat, is sponsoring legislation to require monthly prison and jail checks by DHS to track incarcerated illegal aliens, increase spending on criminal alien deportations, and expand a program known as 287(g) to encourage more local and state officials to cooperate with the feds to help identify and deport criminal aliens in their hometowns.

Why the hell aren’t we doing all this already? How many more innocent lives will be taken or ruined before we do?

After the defeat of the Bush-Kennedy amnesty bill last month, I received tons of e-mail from readers asking: “What can I do?” Answer: Don’t wait for Washington. Sign up to help pressure our government to rid this country of convicted criminal aliens at www.deportthemnow.com.

For Zina. For Schanna. For Deputy Fabiano. For Officer Johnson. For our safety, sovereignty, and the protection of the American Dream for those who deserve it.

Make sure the read the column in its entirety.

Michelle is right — this has gone on far too long. Since the government won’t act, its time that we do. Visit Deport Them Now and together, we can send a powerful message to the government that they cannot ignore.

Did anyone think she wouldn’t be?

Cindy Sheehan has been threatening to run for public office against Nancy Pelosi — as an independent, of course, since she now hates the Democratic Party as well — if she doesn’t try to impeach President Bush.

Well, today, she made it official.

I bet Nancy Pelosi is just shaking in her high heels!

Bidding farewell to her former peace camp near President Bush’s ranch, Cindy Sheehan began a nearly two-week trek toward Washington D.C. on Tuesday with her sights set on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Officially announcing her run against Pelosi in 2008 if the San Francisco congresswoman doesn’t move to impeach Bush by July 23, Sheehan said she relates to the people in her home state and chided Pelosi for keeping troops in danger.

“I know what Californians care about,” said Sheehan, who plans to run as an independent. “They don’t care about the ruling power elite.”

Sheehan first told The Associated Press on Sunday about her plans to challenge the top-ranking Democrat. She made it official Tuesday at Camp Casey, named after her 24-year-old son who was slain in Iraq and whose death first led Sheehan to Crawford in 2005 to demand a meeting with Bush.

Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly said Tuesday that Pelosi’s “focus is on ending the war in Iraq.”

“She believes that the best way to support our troops in Iraq is to bring them home safely and soon,” Daly wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press. “Democrats will continue to hold the Bush Administration accountable by having votes in July to change course in Iraq; to responsibly redeploy our troops; and to refocus our effort on protecting Americans from terrorism.”

But Sheehan said Tuesday that’s not enough.

“You can’t bring the troops home if you give George Bush $100 billion to wage this war,” she said. “You’re not supporting them. You’re keeping them in harm’s way.”

Sheehan’s caravan then plans to leave for Houston, the first stop on what her supporters termed a “journey for humanity.”

Sheehan, who turned 50 on Tuesday, in May stunned fellow anti-war activists by announcing that she would sell the 5-acre protest site. She said she felt her efforts had been in vain and that she had endured hatred and smear tactics from the left as well as from the right.

Sheehan said Bush should be impeached is because she believes he misled the public about the reasons for going to war, violated the Geneva Convention by torturing detainees and crossed the line by commuting the prison sentence of former vice presidential aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby.

Sheehan has said she lives in a Sacramento suburb but declined to disclose which city, citing safety reasons. The area is outside Pelosi’s district, but there are no residency requirements for congressional members, according to the California secretary of state’s office.

Sheehan spent a final long weekend at her 5-acre lot before ceremoniously handing the keys to its new owner, California radio talk show host Bree Walker.

Come on — she can’t seriously think she has a prayer of winning!

Hot Air had this video posted, of Cindy Sheehan on Fox News saying that “the little voice in Cindy Sheehan’s head” was what told her to run.

I’ve said it so many times, but her son must be spinning in his grave right now. He joined the Army in 2000, and then re-enlisted in 2004 — after the Iraqi War had begun, and he apparently even knew his unit was being sent to Iraq when he re-enlisted.

Casey Sheehan is a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country — and his mother jumped onto that opportunity to exploit his sacrifice and dishonor him, in order to push her own radical agenda.

Is there anything sadder than that?

But, as I said, it isn’t like she has a prayer of winning. Nancy Pelosi has held that seat for 20 years. She ain’t going nowhere.

Meanwhile, my buddy John Hawkins of Right Wing News has what very well could be her very first campaign ad:

Everyone is going on and on and on about how President Bush commuted Scooter Libby’s sentence:

Just when things looked darkest for I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, when prison seemed all but certain, President Bush wiped away the former White House aide’s 2 1/2-year sentence in the CIA leak case.

Bush’s move came Monday, just five hours after a federal appeals panel ruled that Libby could not delay his prison term. His prospects for an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court seemed bleak. The former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, Libby was just waiting for a date to surrender.

After months of sidestepping pardon questions, Bush stepped in. He did not issue a pardon but erased a prison sentence that he felt was just too harsh.

“I respect the jury’s verdict,” Bush said in a written statement. “But I have concluded that the prison sentence given to Mr. Libby is excessive. Therefore, I am commuting the portion of Mr. Libby’s sentence that required him to spend 30 months in prison.”

That’s all fine and good — I agree that the sentence was excessive.

But there are two people in prison right now who shouldn’t be, with terms much longer than 30 months, and it has been a lot longer than five hours after their sentencing.

Their names are Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. They are the two Border Patrol Agents, arrested for defending themselves against an illegal alien smuggling over 740 lbs of marijuana into the United States.

Agents Ramos and Compean were sentenced to eleven and twelve year prison terms with a possibility of twenty years to life. I wrote about this travesty back in January in an open letter to President Bush:

On February 17, 2005, U.S. Border Agent Ignacio Ramos (a former nominee for Border Patrol Agent of the Year), and Jose Compean attempted to apprehend a fleeing illegal alien at our border. Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila had the pleasure of getting a personal visit from a Department of Homeland Security investigator, sent by you, to offer him full immunity in exchange for testifying against the Border Patrol Agents.

Really, Mr. President? Who are you representing — an illegal immigrant who tried to smuggle drugs across the border and assaulted an American, or Americans who are trying to protect other Americans? You didn’t offer them a pardon, so I guess we know your answer.

Mr. Aldrete-Davila thanked you for your kindness, generosity, and faith by getting caught smuggling more drugs into the United States. He was again freed. He thanked the United States by suing for $5 million, claiming his civil rights were violated.

T.J. Bonner, of the National Border Patrol Council, said on CNN that ”This is really the most outrageous miscarriage of justice that I’m aware of in my twenty-eight years as a border patrol agent. I have never seen anything so… I can’t even think of the word.”

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-CA, said, ”The word is out that the southern border is undefended. Border agents won’t dare to draw their weapons, and the drug cartel will double their effort to drive a wedge in our border.”

”This is the worst betrayal of American defenders I have ever seen,” he continued. ”It’s shameful this was done by someone who is in the Republican Party. He obviously thinks more about his agreements with Mexico than the lives of American people and backing up his defenders.”

They are now in prisons where they are surrounded by criminals, which they themselves have arrested. They were being held in the general population — until Ignacio Ramos was the victim of a brutal attack by a group of illegal immigrants yelling “Maten a la migra!” which means “Kill the Border Patrol agent.” He suffered repeated blows and kicks, and allegedly did not receive medical attention for up to 48 hours after the attack. His wife reported he had a concussion, with blood coming out of his ears after the attackers kicked him wearing their prison work-issued, steel toe boots in the back, ribs, and head.

These men were doing their job to protect us and our borders, and yet they are in prison. Where is a pardon for them, or a commutation of their sentences? Both are married, with families. They did nothing wrong, and the President is refusing to act.

That’s why there is no reason whatsoever that this Scooter Libby clemency should be news.

Ignacio Ramos embraces his wife Monica.

I just received this statement from presidential candidate Duncan Hunter:

By a vote of 46 to 53, the U.S. Senate voted today not to proceed with debate on legislation providing amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants presently living in the United States. Following the Senate’s vote, Presidential Candidate and U.S. Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) made the following statement:

“From the very beginning of the immigration debate, the American people were clear in their strong opposition to granting amnesty to more than 12 million illegal immigrants. While this flawed piece of legislation should never have been considered in the first place, I commend my colleagues in the Senate who positioned themselves with the American people and rejected this amnesty bill.

“The idea that amnesty must be accepted in order to achieve secure and enforceable borders is absurd. The effort to provide citizenship benefits to millions of illegal immigrants failed — not once, but twice. It is time that we abandon the concept of rewarding those who have broken our laws and take action to secure our borders and enforce existing immigration laws. This is what the American people have been demanding and this is what they deserve.

“Executing one existing law in particular, the Secure Fence Act, would go a long way to bringing a greater element of security to our Southern land border. By constructing double-layered security fencing across the major smuggling corridors on the U.S.-Mexico border, as required by the Secure Fence Act, we will have taken a significant step towards achieving a border that is enforceable and no longer a conduit for illegal activity.”

NOTE: Congressman Duncan authored the fencing provisions in the Secure Fence Act, extending the San Diego Border Fence across Arizona, and portions of New Mexico and Texas.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again — we need Duncan Hunter in 2008.

On June 30th, another FEC finance report is due. You can donate using the form located below on my blog, or go on over to Duncan’s page at www.gohunter08.com. If you want a true conservative in the White House — and Hunter is — then get on over to his page and donate a few dollars if you can.

John Hawkins liveblogged the cloture vote in the Senate over at Right Wing News.

End result? We win, with 46 nay and 53 yea.

Here’s some advice, folks — and this is from someone who fought this bill as hard as anyone on the net.

Be magnanimous in victory.

Remember the people who fought for us all along, like Jim DeMint, Tom Coburn, David Vitter, Jeff Sessions and some of the other people who played a smaller, but still significant role, like Elizabeth Dole and John Cornyn.

Don’t forget that the House Republicans stepped up when it counted and sent a message to the Senate by opposing amnesty.

Keep in mind that John Ensign, the head of the RNSC, voted for cloture when it counted — and he let people know his decision before the vote started. So, he didn’t just go with flow once he saw the bill was going to lose, like Sam Brownback and some of the others. Tossing a few bucks the NRSC’s way as a thank-you wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.

Last but not least, take a day and drink in the victory. It took way too long and it was way too hard, but the American people won out in the end. Take a little time to be happy about that.

PS: Here’s a piece of free advice for George Bush and the Republican senators who ended up on the wrong end of this bill: You need to get right with your base and with the American people — and you need to do it in a hurry.

Some senators will vote for cloture, but then against the bill, because they think we are all too stupid to understand what they are doing. Remember folks, keep the pressure on.

Call or e-mail them here.

Call the National Republican Senatorial Committee at (202) 675-6000 and the Republican National Committee at (202) 863-8500 (option 1).

Let them know you won’t support any senator who supports this bill. Maybe also throw in that you’ll be on board for John Hawkins’ Payback Project. If this bill passes, I know I will be.

… to contact your senators. The immigration bill is rearing its ugly head yet again on Tuesday, and what better way to greet them back from the weekend with a mountain of phone calls? Tell them you won’t support anyone who votes for this bill or for cloture.

Also, yesterday John Hawkins of Right Wing News had a great entry about where the bill is standing right now:

My source tells me that this has left a sour taste in the mouth of a number of Republican senators who are upset that Mitch McConnell is cooperating with Harry Reid to curtail the rights of Republican senators. Moreover, there’s a growing fear that a dangerous precedent is being set here that could be used against Republican senators again and again as long as they’re in the minority. After all, if the “clay pigeon” strategy is used against conservatives on the immigration issue, who’s to say it won’t also be used against them on any number of issues in the future? According to my source, this is causing a lot of nervousness amongst Republican senators and it has Mitch McConnell acting very defensively behind closed doors about working with Harry Reid to roll members of his own caucus. Because of this issue, my source tells me that the vote for the “clay pigeon” strategy is no longer a slam dunk and it is possible that the “grand bargainers” may not be able to get 60 votes to put the bill on the floor as a new bill. If that turns out to be the case, the bill is dead.

This is a very encouraging sign:

The U.S. House of Representatives this morning voted to withhold federal emergency services funding for “sanctuary cities” that protect illegal immigrants.
Anti-illegal immigration champion Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., sponsored the measure, which he says would apply to cities such as Denver and Boulder. He was elated by its passage, which stunned critics and supporters alike.

“The issue has come to fruition,” Tancredo said by cell phone after the vote. “The people of the country really have spoken. It’s a really good indicator of just how much closer to the people the House is than the Senate is.”

The House passed the amendment, 234 to 189, with 50 Democrats voting in favor.

Tancredo and his staffers hooted and cheered from his office across the street from the Capitol immediately after the vote. Tancredo has introduced similar amendments at least seven other times since 2004, but each has failed — often by wide margins.

This shows that the shamnesty bill that won’t die in the Senate has a very good chance of failing in the House. Every single member is up for reelection in 2008, and they aren’t willing to risk it. Even the Democrats in the House can see it. If Republican senators were smart, they would just let it die.

But that’s a big if.
