My name is Cassy Fiano, and I’m a twenty-something Florida native now living in Marine Town, North Carolina who started blogging solely on a whim. I blog here, at Hot Air’s The Greenroom, Stop the ACLU, and Liberty Pundits. I am married to a Marine and have no children, although I do have a baby sister who is twenty-three years younger than I am. I also just launched a new milblog to chronicle the day-to-day life of a Marine Corps spouse: Hard Corps Wife.

I got my start in journalism at the Florida Times-Union, working for their online department, Jacksonville.com. I covered mostly sports, such as the Jacksonville Jaguars, The Super Bowl, TPC, and local minor league teams like the Jacksonville Suns (baseball) and the Jacksonville Barracudas (hockey). After a few years there, I stopped covering sports but continued writing a bi-weekly column on politics, culture, and current events, as well as columns on my personal life occasionally. John Hawkins from Right Wing News started linking my columns on Conservative Grapevine, and eventually started to encourage me to begin blogging. After a lot of consideration, I took the leap and started blogging! I didn’t know where it would lead, but I’ve been able to do much more with this than I ever would’ve expected.

I’m one of the people who make up the “youth vote” which is always supposed to be making such a huge impact every election season. I actually do care about politics, unlike the majority of the youth, and have been involved long before I started blogging. In 2004 I even campaigned for George W. Bush, along with a few state representatives (John Stargel, Dorothy Hukill, and Pat Patterson). I’m no political expert, just an opinionated girl who loves her country and wants to make a difference.
