I don’t suppose he’s going to count the Megabuck advance he got for a book that might have been written by Bill Ayers. And when he’s out on the street come 2012, does anybody doubt he’s going to do the speaking circuit, like his fellow-travelers Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter? During which, come March, he’ll announce, “Well, I’ve made enough money this year, it’s all free from now till December”.

Speaking of “the rich” – I remember an old saying: If you want a job, try asking a poor person.

Over the years, we’ve relied increasingly on income taxes paid by rich people to fund the government. I don’t think that’s a particularly good idea, but if you’re going to do it that way, there’s one thing that you absolutely, positively need to have, and that is…wait for it…RICH PEOPLE.

It’s really not that complicated. If the government is going to arbitrarily decide how much money people can make, well, all of that money that people will no longer be allowed to make is money that they’ll also no longer be paying taxes on.

Now of course, this would be obvious, except for the fact that The Chosen One acquired his understanding of economics in a weed-fueled dorm room bull session where he had an epiphany that capitalism, was like, a bummer dude.

And to think that Wall Street helped to elect this clown and his allies in Congress. As Glenn Reynolds might say, who are the rubes now?

I would like to know exactly what that number is. Is it $10 million? $5 million? What does our esteemed President plan on doing when he hits that number? Does that include combined earnings? Are expense accounts counted toward earnings?
