This moment, from Bret Baier’s interview on Fox News with Obama, might just be one of the biggest “WTF?!” moments from Obama’s presidency yet. Obama is either completely making things up, living in an alternate reality, or really, really confused.

Actually, my guess is that’s it’s probably a combination of all three.

Apparently, there was a devastating earthquake in Hawaii that we all somehow missed.

Oh, wait, no. That’s right. There was no earthquake, and Obama is just totally clueless, as usual. In fact, the last earthquake in Hawaii to cause any deaths at all was in 1975, and two people died.

In any case, why is he using this argument, anyways? He’s turned this health care bill into a one-size-fits-all solution for everything. Not only will it fix our health care, but it will apparently create jobs and give disaster relief around the country!

Maybe I’m the only person who doesn’t get it, but I just don’t see how disaster relief has anything to do with health care. This is just more evidence that Obama is just talking out of his you-know-where now. He’s become this desperate. And you know, I say good. That means we’re getting to him, and now’s the time to push even harder.

And, Obama? Just a tip. Someone that you supposedly look up to once gave some pretty good advice, someone named Abraham Lincoln. Read this quote. Memorize it. Repeat it to yourself before you ever choose to open your mouth ever again.

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.

Actually, and the last thing I ever want is to sound like I’m covering for this guy, there was a fairly big earthquake in Hawaii in the fall of 2006. Two quakes, back-to-back, that both measured 6.0 on the Richter Scale. It did a lot of structural damage on the Big Island and knocked out power on Oahu for most of the day. Nobody was seriously hurt though so that earthquake had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with health care on any level. So he’s not really lying in this case, just an imbecile.

    Mark Says:

The thing that makes his statement false is that the “Louisiana Purchase” contained very strict criteria in order for a state to qualify for the money. So strict in fact as to disqualify every other state but Louisiana, including Hawaii. So even if that quake had resulted in any casualties, Hawaii still wouldn’t have received any money under that clause.

Is it just me, or was that interview handled horribly? I haven’t seen or heard the whole thing, but have heard several pieces and in every one Obama walks all over Baier. There’s being courteous, then there’s letting him use “let me finish” to just spout his BS continually to cover up avoiding answering the damn questions.

PS to Mark, the language of Sec. 2006 of the bill does not disqualify every state but Louisiana. It requires that every county or parish in the state warrant individual or public federal assistance – and Hawaii qualified under the federal declaration.

By the way, the Medicaid adjustment doesn’t have to do with the number of casualties but levels of certain funding.

    Miguelito,

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I kept asking myself why Baer just sat back and took that nonsense. It wasn’t an interview at all. It was just Obama lecturing and making Baer look like his “little bitch”.

I kept waiting for Baer to start getting tough, but he looked more like a mangina in that “interview.” For God’s sake, don’t give that doofus true “messiah” status…

I think the whole reason why Obama went on that interview was to try to marginalize conservatives and to show his base that he wasn’t going to give any ground (which, unfortunately, I think he did). And then Brit Hume gets on and tells Baer “hey buddy, you did your best.” Huh????!!!! If that was Baer’s “best,” then he needs to look for another job. I expect that softball “tossed salad” nonsense from the liberal media, not Fox.

The article isn’t factual, there was a major earthquake in Hawaii that was declared as a major disaster by President Bush

    ———————————————

Actually, it doesn’t. It only requires that in the past 7 fiscal years, the state has suffered a federally-declared disaster for which each county or parish in the state was eligible for assistance…and they can show certain Medicaid funding disparities. That’s why Hawaii would likely qualify.

But really, I should just suggest you read the actual language of Section 2006 of the bill, since you don’t seem to take anybody’s word for what it actually says.
