The polls have closed, but we can’t necessarily expect to know who the winner is tonight. However, early returns are showing Brown leading Coakley 52 – 47%. So far, he’s faring better than John McCain did in Massachusetts, a good sign.

This post will be updated throughout the night, so be sure to keep checking in here. Will the Democrats keep their 60 seat filibuster-proof majority, or will Scott Brown become the 41st vote? Stay tuned…

UPDATE: 57% of precincts are reporting. Brown has widened his lead one point, at 53% – 46%. Still too early for a victory dance, but it looks like we’re getting there!

UPDATE: 66% of precincts are reporting, and Brown continues to lead Coakley.

UPDATE: Martha Coakley has allegedly conceded!

UPDATE: Politico is confirming that Coakley has indeed conceded to Scott Brown.

A Republican just won Ted Kennedy’s seat in Massachusetts.

This could arguably be the largest political upset in over a decade.

Congratulations to Scott Brown, and also to all of US who fought against liberal corruption, elitism, and entitlement. We now have our 41st vote in the Senate!!!

Well, step one, winning the election, the irrelevant one, is complete… Here’s a link for step 2 wherein Coakley has already hired Franken’s recount atty…

Here comes ACORN and the SEIU and the fake votes. I’d put a spy on every SEIU house and car and every black church. As we saw in Florida and Minnesota that’s where votes are likely to appear…

Well, I’m glad I was wrong about my prediction. I wasn’t sure if all this nonsense Coakley did would have an affect on Mass. voters. It’s nice to see that they’re not totally brain-dead in the Bay State.

As for ACORN and stuff, I think the percentages are too wide for a recount to have much of an impact. If it was 51-49, maybe, but not 53-46…

I’ll gladly own being wrong on this one. Thank you Mass. You know the rest of the dems HAVE to be pee-ing themselves. A head of lettuce should have held that seat and there it goes by a BIG margin. Wow. Sucks to be them. I think the “moderate” dems will be rethinking that vote so even if they avoid the need for 60 votes, they may not get 51… SWEET!

    Congrats Scott Brown!

Mass. has spoken, and they’re sick of the Kennedys. New Jersey went “red” too, didn’t it?
