How does she figure that the system worked?!
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Sunday that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up an Amsterdam-Detroit airline flight Christmas Day demonstrated that “the system worked.”
Asked by CNN’s Candy Crowley on “State of the Union” how that could be possible when the young Nigerian who has been charged with trying to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the jet, Napolitano responded: “We’re asking the same questions.”
Napolitano added that there was “no suggestion that [the suspect] was improperly screened.”
What?! You have got to be seriously insane to think that this is a demonstration of how “the system worked”. Someone on a terror watch list was able to get a US visa. They were able to board a plane with 80 grams of explosives strapped to his underwear. They were able to detonate those explosives… but a faulty detonator saved the lives of several hundred passengers. Yet Napolitano says that he wasn’t improperly screened and that the system worked.
Hey, question for you, Napolitano. If he was properly screened, how was he able to get explosives onto the airplane? If he was on a terror watch list, how could he get a visa? If he was on a no-fly list, how could he fly into the United States? His father even warned the Embassy about him last month. There was no thwarting of the terrorist — the bomb failed. The system doesn’t work.
If this woman thinks that the Christmas Day attack is an example of the system working, then Obama should fire her immediately. And concerned as he is about our national security, I’m sure he’ll do just that immediately.

This is the same person who was Governor of Arizona, who believes that we do not have an illegal immigration problem. Is this any surprise. I don’t know in what reality she is living, or better yet would love to know what she is smoking.
I am sorry but I am sick and tired of the so-called mainstream media ignoring this woman. So much for the integrity of journalists. If it doesn’t fit into their world view, that is the only time we hear them.
I live in Arizona. Napolitano was Governor once. How nice of her to leave.
She has no real qualifications other than her being ‘a friend of Dorothy’s', which makes her somehow ‘exotic’ and therefore worthy of a Cabinet post.
She is ideologically incapable of treating acts of terrorism as acts of war. They will be treated as crimes, and crimes are caused by complex social pressures like systemic racism, Social injustice, American arrogance, the Bush Junta and Haliburton. That makes them the products of Society, and therefore America’s fault.
Having determined that, it’s a short jump to paying Nigeria reparations for illegally detaining this guy, and wrinkling his shirt, giving all Nigerians free air fare for life and scheduling an appointment for Obama to come over there and apologize in person.
If I were running this railroad, that guy would be in a dark hole somewhere in the company of interrogators with nicknames like: Snake-Eye, and Zombie.
Only after there is no more information of any value rattling around in his skull would he be shot, wrapped in a pig hide and buried in a mud hole.

One must look at her comments in light of what is truth to her and her ilk to understand her comment.
To her, the most dangerous people in this country are the political resistance to the Kenyan in chief and demo-rat traitors. They MUST be dealt with so that their plans for the Marxist takeover can happen. Everything else is theater. If you look at things this way, her answer makes perfect sense.
