Americans are on the move. They’re fleeing certain states, and flocking to others. And, what a coincidence — each state that’s losing residents is blue, with the exception of one. The list is as follows.
1. California — net loss, 98,798 residents
2. New York — net loss, 98,178 residents
3. Michigan — net loss, 87,339 residents
4. Illinois — net loss, 48,249 residents
5. Ohio — net loss, 38,278 residents
6. New Jersey — net loss, 31,690 residents
7. Florida — net loss, 31,179 residents
Notice anything? Every single one of those states is a blue state. Florida and Ohio are technically considered purple, but lately, they’ve been leaning more towards the blue side. The states gaining the most residents are all red states — Wyoming, Utah, Texas, and Colorado.
Clearly, those liberal policies sound good in theory but don’t sit too well with Americans once they start actually getting put into practice.

Florida is not leaning blue.
I live in a blue state (Illinois) and started looking for a state to retire to a few years ago. Right now we’re looking at Kentucky, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas. Illinois is a pit in so many ways and just doesn’t seem worth the effort to try and fix.
We don’t want them here in Wyoming either. Send them to someplace where they can do damage just to themselves
Turn them back around and get them the hell out of NC and SC it’s bad enough in the summer months without them moving in!

Send them to Canada.
While it’s obvious- and has been for a while- that the blue states are leaking residents, it should not be assumed that the red states will simply grow. What’s more likely is that we’ll see states do what Arizona has done: welcome new immigrants from blue states who will promptly work to make their new homes work like their old ones, making the formerly red states more purple. Personally, I’d rather see the blue state residents forced to sleep in the socialist hellholes that they made for themselves, rather than have them screw up other states. Message: “You screwed it up, now suck it up.”
Liberal policies have never worked. I wonder why people still try. Of course, when liberal re-write history to suit their agenda, no one can make correct decisions.
It’s interesting that people leave blue states, like Michigan, and come to Texas, which has been run by Republicans for the last 16 years. Of course they like the no income tax, low unemployment, etc. and then they try to change it…
Liberalism is insanity by any definition.
We here in Oklahoma have seen a lot of immigrants from California, Washington (state) and Nevada. My thoughts: YOU MADE YOUR BED BY ELECTING THESE MORONS, DON’T SCREW UP MY STATE!
The problem is that the former Californians are moving to red states and starting to try to bring their Blue state crap with them. I am so SICK of whiny Californians!
I’m with Bob on this, i.e., the libs are moving to red states and bringing their crap with them. My state(CT) used to be more conservative but the sh*tbirds from NY ruined it.
I lived in a city that is rotting from the inside out. Buffalo,NY where I lived for just over ten years has one side of the city with thousands, yes I said THOUSANDS of vacant homes and acres of open land as a result of demolished buildings and no further building on the property. Five of the last Six Mayors including the current Mayor were Democrats. Anyone who has seen Steven Crowder’s fascinating report on Detroit on PJTV can come to Buffalo and see pretty much the same thing. Buffalo has seen its population plummet from about 525,000 in the late 50′s to its current population of around 295,000.

How do you determine if a state is red or blue? Based on how it voted in the most recent presidential election? Because if that’s your yardstick, Colorado went blue in the most recent presidential election. A lot of states did, that didn’t in 2004. Same with Nevada – turned blue in 08, possibly for the first time ever. I suspect that increased Hispanic immigration into the US over the last ten years has a lot to do with this phenomenon, as well as the intra-US migratory patterns Cassy described.
