Blackfive brings us the trailer for a new HBO movie, “Taking Chance”, that will air in February. This quote was included:

“Chance Phelps was wearing his Saint Christopher medal when he was killed on Good Friday. Eight days later, I handed the medallion to his mother. I didn’t know Chance before he died. Today, I miss him.” – LtCol Michael R. Strobl, USMC (Ret.), “Taking Chance”

Blackfive wrote about the article LtCol Strobl wrote back in 2004, and now, that article has been turned into an HBO movie. Here’s the trailer:

It looks like it’ll be a great movie, and it’s one that I absolutely will see, and you should too.

“Taking Chance” airs February 21st.

Cassy – cruel and unusual punishment to forget the tissue warning. I think I remember reading that one back around when it happened, very touching.

This is the story of my Grandson, I can’t tell you how I feelabout the movie as I have not seen it yet, but I feel great pride in the fact that he was protecting our USA. He was a wonderful young man, and we all miss him. I just pray that all the young Men and Women who are serving our Country know they are Loved and Respected by all of our family. God Bless you all and may God continue to Bless America. Margaret Gingrich

I was privileged to see Taking Chance two days ago at the Sundance Film Festival and it is definitely a must see movie experience for all Americans. It is a wonderful story of service and sacrifice as well as respect and honor. I have told everyone I know and urge everyone to both see and let others know about this movie.
