Then again, I’ve never really cared for any election cycle, but this one is pretty bad. The mudslinging and criminal acts coming from both sides is sickening.

I’m a bit left of center on some issues, and right of center on others. Guess that makes me a moderate? Any which way, I voted for Bill Clinton back in those days, and don’t exactly regret it.

But I could not, and will not, vote for Barak Obama in good conscience. And to think that I could become the victim of a violent crime for this is appalling. This country has fallen far from it’s best days(During and immediately after WW2) to this insanity. It is almost as bad as the days when the moonbats and hippies spat on the soldiers/marines returning from Vietnam, already, and nobody has even been injured(that I know of).

I’m somewhat saddened to know that my vote will likely count for nothing, as Oregon is a very much Blue state. I’m even more saddened to find that the once great ‘liberal’ party is now even more fascist than the party whom they declare as ‘fascist’.

I have to respectfully disagree. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not going to defend someone yelling “Kill him,” but I don’t put an angry shout on the same level as arson. If it’s a serious threat, then I would consider it at least as bad depending on whether or not the arson had the potential to hurt or kill people. Likewise with shouts at clinics. Unpleasant to be sure, but protected speech until a genuine threat is involved.

I am personally left of centre, but I absolutely condemn that kind of behaviour.

I say the same thing to Republicans who shout terrorist/babykiller/whatever at Democrats. It goes both ways in my books.

Greg, my point was that nutters exist on both sides of the fence.

It’s best to be the bigger person, regardless of your politics, and do what you have to in order to prevent and take action against these kinds of instances.

I will go along with “Someone in SF” in a very important regard: Violence can never be acceptable to intrude on the rights of others. I hope they find the people in Canada that destroyed property and endangered lives, and throw the biggest book they can at them.

And while I cringe at the mention of “hate crimes” legislation, I think that a very good case can be made for denial of civil rights prosecution for anyone who burns, steals, or otherwise destroys a lawfully placed act of political speech.

Doesn’t matter how respectful I am, the other side always breaks down into shouting and midless statements like “If you like freedom then you damn well should vote for Obama because Bush took away all our rights!”

Had that yelled at me yesterday.

And guarentee that if the big O looses then there will be riots all over the place cause that’s how the left shows tollerance

Yeah, and in the USofA the folks who bleat most loudly about respect and tolerance are on the left, and will turn a blind eye towards this sort of behaviour.

It was only a McCain sign, not like they where burning O in effigy.
