[...] Cassy Fiano thinks this is a “brilliant move” for Republicans and I couldn’t agree more. There is no excuse for any elected representative not to act. [...]

Interesting logic, you say, Cylar? Well, it's liberal logic. It just makes sense to them. Too bad it's a mental disorder. Liberals keep trying the same old things again and again, hoping for a new outcome. Doesn't work.

Nancy Pelosi is on prime example. Drilling won't lower the price of gas, but releasing 70 million barrels from the SPR will. How does she figure that? When Carter was in office, he preached conservation. Where did that get us?

It should be quite evident by now that the Democrats, and liberals in general, are not about freedom of expression, democracy or letting votes dictate the policy of this government or the will of the people. They are about power. They want to run the country as they see fit, because they are, after all, smarter and better than the rest of us.

One thing I haven't heard mentioned in this debate, is that the Democrat party is beholden to any number of hard-left environmentalist groups, ex Greenpeace and Sierra Club. These organizations often oppose any form of energy development, no matter how "green" it is. Consider the following list:

Solar: PANELS WIPE OUT DESERT WILDLIFE HABITAT!
Wind: THE TURBINES KILL BIRDS!
Geothermal: TOXIC CORROSIVE GAS EMISSIONS!
Hydroelectric: DAMS ACCUMULATE SILT! RESERVOIRS WIPE OUT WILDLIFE HABITAT AND INDIAN LANDS!
Clean coal: NO SUCH THING!
Nuclear: THREE MILE ISLAND! CHERNOBYL!
Oil: SPILLS! TANKER CRASHES! CARBON FOOTPRINT! BUSH'S OIL BUDDIES!

And on and on it goes. There's always some kind of an issue with every energy source you can name, because it's really about dragging Western Civilization back to the Dark Ages.

Democrat opposition to domestic drilling would evaporate overnight if they didn't have these wacko enviro-weenie groups putting pressure on their D representatives in the House and Senate.

I think what cracks me up about these people is their insistence that "we cannot drill our way out" of high oil prices, but apparently we can conserve our way out of them. Interesting logic, that's all I can say.

Republicans should be characterising the Democrats as "Energy Terrorists". When you fight a war you try to deprive your enemy of as much energy (read oil, gas, coal) as possible. So the Democrats are doing to America what the Nazis, communists and the jihadis couldn't. They are cutting Americas oil supply!!!

Woah!
Let's not dismiss construction of those economy boosting Nuclear Power plants needed to power the grid for all those electric cars. Of course, this will require beating submission into the NIMBY folks in the desert to accept stewardship of domestic, and international, spent fuel and "other" material on gum'mint land.

Wonder where the Canadians are going to put the "byproduct" of all that
confiscated (from WHERE? by WHO?) yellowcake they recently took possession of record when they're done with it?

Just remember, election "season" includes all the dead weight in Federal, State, and local congresses too!
Three cheers for Conservative servants of the people that haven't had their gonads exorcised a la "Bleak House".

Bingo. It's in the best interest of the Obamessiah for the country to be in as sour a mood as possible before November. The other narrative for them HAS to be that it's all George Bush's or the Republican party's fault. Facts be damned.
